Article Withdrawal
ADI Journal of Community Service (ADIMAS) is committed to maintaining publication ethics, editorial integrity, and the responsible management of scholarly publications. The journal recognizes that manuscript withdrawal may occasionally be necessary under exceptional circumstances. However, withdrawal should not be treated as a routine option after submission, as the editorial and peer-review processes require considerable time and effort from editors, reviewers, and the publisher.
By submitting a manuscript to ADIMAS, authors acknowledge their responsibility to ensure that the submission is original, has not been published previously, and is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal. Authors are therefore expected to carefully consider their submission before initiating the editorial process.
1. Withdrawal Before Peer Review
Authors who wish to withdraw a manuscript before the peer-review process begins must submit a formal written request to the ADIMAS Editorial Office. The request must include the manuscript title, submission ID, names of all authors, and a clear explanation of the reasons for withdrawal.
The Editorial Office will evaluate the request and notify the corresponding author of its decision. A manuscript will be considered withdrawn only after the journal has formally confirmed the withdrawal.
2. Withdrawal During Peer Review
Withdrawal after the manuscript has entered the peer-review process is strongly discouraged because it may waste the time and resources invested by editors and reviewers. Such requests will be considered only when the authors provide valid and justifiable reasons.
The corresponding author must submit a formal withdrawal request and confirm that all co-authors have been informed of and agree with the request. The Editor-in-Chief or an authorized editor will assess the circumstances before making a final decision.
Authors must not withdraw a manuscript unilaterally or submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under consideration by ADIMAS. Such actions may constitute a breach of publication ethics and may be handled in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics policy.
3. Withdrawal After Acceptance
Withdrawal requests submitted after a manuscript has been accepted for publication will be considered only under exceptional circumstances. Authors must provide a detailed written justification, and the final decision rests with the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the Editorial Board when necessary.
Approval is not automatic. The journal will consider the reason for withdrawal, the stage of the publication process, and any relevant ethical or legal concerns before reaching a decision.
4. Articles Already Published
Once an article has been formally published, it cannot be withdrawn through the ordinary manuscript withdrawal procedure. Published articles form part of the permanent scholarly record and should remain accessible whenever possible.
If serious errors, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, authorship disputes, copyright violations, or other significant ethical concerns are identified after publication, ADIMAS will assess the case in accordance with its publication ethics principles and applicable editorial procedures.
Depending on the circumstances, the journal may issue a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction notice. Any such action will be handled transparently and in a manner appropriate to the nature and severity of the issue.
5. Withdrawal Procedure
All withdrawal requests must meet the following requirements:
- The request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author through the journal's official communication channels.
- The request must identify the manuscript and clearly explain the reasons for withdrawal.
- The corresponding author must confirm that all co-authors have been informed of and agree with the request. The journal may request written confirmation from individual co-authors when necessary.
- The Editorial Office will review the request and may seek additional information or clarification.
- Withdrawal will take effect only after the journal issues formal written confirmation.
Submitting a withdrawal request does not automatically terminate the editorial process. Until formal confirmation is received, authors must continue to comply with the journal's submission and publication policies.
6. Ethical Considerations and Editorial Action
Unjustified withdrawal, simultaneous submission to multiple journals, or attempts to circumvent the editorial and peer-review process may be considered a breach of publication ethics.
Where there is evidence of suspected publication misconduct, ADIMAS reserves the right to conduct an appropriate editorial assessment, request clarification from the authors, and contact the relevant institutions when justified by the circumstances and applicable ethical procedures.
Any editorial action will be proportionate to the circumstances and consistent with the journal's Publication Ethics policy and applicable publication ethics standards.
7. Contact
For questions or requests concerning manuscript withdrawal, authors should contact the ADIMAS Editorial Office through the official communication channels provided on the journal website.
